An sfx i created for my game. I used 3ml piano editor and adobe audition (for the tone generator), and audacity for editing.

Here are the highlights from a mri machine (a ge signa, i believe). Probably useful for robot sounds. You'll also note the cooling system in there as well. These things dissipate a huge amount of energy and are quite interesting. The actual sounds come from vibration of the coils as the machine runs through it's patterns.

This sound was recorded in the upf's bar. It was recorded using a zoom h2 portable recorder, placing the recorder next to a coffee machine when somebody was ordering a coffee. We can hear all the tipical sounds of the machine like entering the coins, dropping water, heating the coffee. . .

My washing machine is doing the laundry. The recording consists of eight "cycles" when the drum is rotating inside machine. Recorded with my trusty olympus ls-10.

Wandering through the floor of a casino past hundreds of different chiming slot machines. Sorry just recorded on an i-phone mic, but it's nice and long.

Just a regular coffee machine. Recording equipment used - pro tools, mbox 3 and se electronics x1.

Cardboard baler recorded close with built-in mics on edirol r-1, full cycle of compaction, with fun squeaky groan in the middle.

Stereo wav 44k/16 - sampling done using mpc2000xl from several projects edited and cut in wavelab, part of "battle fx" sample pack.

A cash register prints out receipts for the day. There's a bit of low background voices. Recorded with sennheiser 416 to fostex pd-6.

Flanged loop effect for a high voltage device of unknown origin. Meant to be layered with sparks, sizzles, the bluuue light, etc. Vibrotron_1 is what the machine sounds like on standby. Do not get too close. Vibrotron_2 is what the machine sounds like after you get too close.

Assymetric ticking noise. Sounds like the ticking of an analogue counter. A single clock tick was placed on two seperate tracks in order to control the time interval between ticks. One of the tracks was pitch shifted to create the sound of two, slightly different ticks. Both tracks pass through a tight chorus filter and a delay tap to recreate a slight sense of springiness and rattle as the "counter wheels" tick over. Created in flstudio with one audio clip, fruitydelay2, fruity fastdist, fruity parametric eq 2, fruity chorus and equo.

4ch-surround field recording of a tv editing suite with all machines running. Very useful as a neutral backdrop for any kind of motion picture or radio play requiring an "techy" feel to the atmosphere. Recorded with a zoom h2, these are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

A found loop. Used a randomized preset on some analog emulation synthesizer vst (i forget which) put through the il hardcore guitar amp plugin.

Starting a two-disc bench rotating grinding machine, grinding steel, followed by switch off and lowering speed.

Starting dremel with ceramic tip, machining at low speed, then increasing to 16,000 rpm, followed by shutting down.
